The GES Council, says the directive to heads of schools, not to charge PTA dues is because of the manner in which some schools, burden students and parents in the collection of the levy.

Chairman of the Council, Michael Nsowah told Ibrahim Kwarteng on Behind the News, that the PTA’s do not run the schools and therefore, have no right to prevent any student from going to school, due to non-payment of PTA dues.

Mr. Nsowah added that six heads of schools have been sanctioned and expected in Accra today to answer charges of noncompliance with the directives.
