A timely intervention of the Police averted what could possibly have been a riot on the campus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST in Kumasi yesterday.

The incident involved residents of the University Hall popularly called ‘Katanga’ and their colleagues at the Unity Hall during one of the activities as part of the Hall Week celebration of Katanga Hall.

The Public Relations Officer of the KNUST’s Students Representatives Council, Kenneth Dwamena, told Correspondent Nicholas Osei-Wusu, that it would have been a disaster had it not been the timely intervention of both riot control police and the university’s internal security personnel.
