A pressure Group called ‘The Students Command of the Economic Fighters League’(Fighters) has said it is  in solidarity with students of University of Ghana, especially those at “diaspora residence” and students across the country, who have been denied free Tertiary Education, and are being subjected to ‘outrageous’ residential facility fees in addition to their school fees.

A statement signed and issued by the Head of Students Command, Fighters, Arimiyaw Wusama, said: “We see a deliberate attempt on the part of the University management to shift undue financial burden to students, owing to their own negligence over a loan they secured to build some residential facilities.”

The statement which was copied to gbcghanaonline.com further said: “This generation of students have been the most short-changed, ironically by the very generation that enjoyed free Education from basic to tertiary level. “

“We hold the firm conviction that Education be made Free for all, from Primary to Tertiary. For this reason alone we support every positive mass action taken by students in resistance to the planned imposition of extra financial burden.” The statement concluded.
