The Ghana Education Service (GES) has confirmed that the 2025/2026 academic calendar for senior high schools remains unchanged.
In a press release dated January 2, GES Management outlined provisions for off-campus learning for students in transition schools during scheduled online periods.
For single-track schools, Form 1 and 2 students will be in school from January 5 to February 27, break until May 3, and return to complete the academic year by August 21. Form 3 students will finish their school year on June 21.
In transition schools, Form 1 students will begin with online/off-campus learning from January 5–30, while Form 2 students will engage in off-campus learning from March 16 to April 17. Form 3 students in transitional schools will follow an uninterrupted in-person schedule until their school year ends in June.
To support off-campus learning, GES has introduced several measures:
– Free curriculum resources accessible via curriculumresources.edu.gh
– Daily live lessons broadcast on MoE TV (Multi TV)
– School-based Learning Management Systems (LMS) for eligible institutions
Management emphasised that online/off-campus periods are not vacations but mandatory teaching and learning sessions. Heads of schools, teachers, parents, and guardians are urged to support students in accessing these learning opportunities.
