Asante Kotoko SC faces a GHS 10,000 fine and a stern warning from the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee for misconduct during their Ghana Premier League match against Medeama SC.

The incident occurred in a tense match on November 30, 2025, at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, where Kotoko mounted a dramatic comeback to draw 2-2.

The Porcupine Warriors trailed 0-2 at halftime after early goals from Medeama’s Derrick Fordjour in the 5th minute and Yussif Mubarik from the penalty spot in the 18th.

Kotoko fought back in the second half, with Peter Amidu Acquah pulling one back in the 69th minute and captain Samba O’Neil equalizing in the 95th minute to salvage a point.

Post-match investigations revealed Kotoko’s failure to ensure match officials’ safety, as supporters threatened and attacked them.

The club also permitted unauthorized persons into restricted areas, including the tunnel, breaching the 2025 Enhanced Matchday Safety Protocols.

The GFA cited violations of its Disciplinary Code and matchday regulations, holding Kotoko responsible for the chaos that followed their late goals.

Prior charges were issued on December 1, 2025, giving the club until December 3 to respond.

Kotoko must pay the fine within 14 days of notification, underscoring the GFA’s push for better supporter behavior and official protection in Ghanaian football.
