The Ghana Police Service has dismissed widespread rumours claiming that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has passed away, describing the reports as completely false.
In a statement, the Service said the IGP is “alive and well and going about his duties as expected.” The Police urged officers, families, and the general public to ignore the speculation.
The statement further warned individuals behind what it called “malicious, insensitive, and reckless claims,” stressing that spreading false information is an offense. The Police added that anyone found responsible for circulating such disinformation will face the law.
