The Ashanti Regional Police Command has initiated a manhunt for three men who deposited the body of Cheikh Toure, a Senegalese teenager, at the Ebenezer morgue in Tafo, Kumasi.

Toure’s death last week has raised serious concerns and triggered a multi-agency probe to uncover the circumstances surrounding his demise.

Authorities in both Ghana and Senegal have coordinated efforts following the incident. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Ghana and Senegal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs are jointly overseeing the investigation.

DSP Godwin Ahianyo, spokesperson for the Ashanti Police, disclosed that the three men, who only communicated in French, have become persons of interest.

“We are looking for these three men,” Ahianyo emphasized. Police found wounds on Toure’s lower abdomen and neck, contradicting the men’s varying explanations about how he died.

Initially, the men claimed Toure’s injuries came from an accident, but later suggested that he had attempted suicide in his room.

Suspicious of their changing stories, police are intensifying efforts to apprehend them to clarify the facts behind the teenager’s death.

The three men left the morgue shortly after depositing the body. Police believe that locating them is critical to unraveling the mystery of Cheikh Toure’s death.

The investigation is active, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
