The Ghana Football Association’s Club Licensing Department has given the green light to five stadiums to host matches in the Ghana Premier League (GPL). Following a recent re-inspection, the Tarkwa TNA Stadium, Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Dun’s Park Bibiani, Nsenkyire Sports Arena and Kpando Sports Stadium have been deemed fit to host games.

These venues meet the required safety and technical standards, ensuring a secure and even playing field for players. The approval comes as the GPL prepares to resume, with clubs and fans eager to return to action.

However, not all stadiums have received full approval. Five other venues, Nii Adjei Kraku Park, Tuba Astro Turf, Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park and Nana Agyemang Badu Park, have been granted conditional approval.

This means they can host matches only after addressing specific concerns identified during the inspection. The GFA has urged the management of these facilities to carry out the necessary repairs promptly to ensure compliance with safety and technical requirements.

Among the high-profile stadiums facing challenges is the Baba Yara Stadium, home to Asante Kotoko and the Legon Stadium, which serves as a temporary venue for Hearts of Oak and Legon Cities.

Both stadiums have been flagged for safety zone issues and must resolve these problems before their next official matches.

The GFA has called on the affected clubs to act swiftly to address these concerns and avoid any disruptions to their schedules.

The Wenchi Sports Stadium, Ampanian Arena and Berekum Golden City Park also remain unapproved due to technical and security challenges. These venues require significant repairs and renovations before they can be certified for use.

The GFA has made it clear that no stadium will be allowed to host matches until all safety and technical standards are met. This strict stance underscores the association’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of players, officials, and spectators.
