Ghana is stepping onto the global technology stage once again as it joins the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) 2025 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations is leading the delegation, showcasing Ghana’s growing reputation as a digital powerhouse.
WTDC is one of the world’s most important gatherings for shaping policies that support digital development, especially for emerging economies.
The conference, organised by the International Telecommunication Union, (ITU), on November 19,2025 ,focuses on creating universal, affordable and meaningful connectivity for all.
Every four years, global leaders meet to discuss issues such as digital inclusion, cybersecurity, climate change and technological innovation. The 2025 edition gives developing countries like Ghana a platform to learn, collaborate and push for policies that match their national priorities.
Ghana’s participation in the WTDC 2025 is more than just attending another international meeting, it is a strategic opportunity. It allows the country to present its digital progress, gain access to international expertise, and secure partnerships that can speed up its digital transformation.
With institutions like NITA, GIFEC, the Cyber Security Authority, the National Communications Authority and top industry players all involved, Ghana is showing strong commitment to building a modern, inclusive digital future.
Joining the global discussions and strengthening its ITU presence, Ghana is positioning itself as a rising leader in the digital economy. The country aims to secure more influence on the global telecoms agenda while attracting the support and collaborations needed to advance digital innovation at home.
From cybersecurity to broadband expansion, Ghana is ready to take bold steps that improve governance, create jobs and enhance the quality of life for all citizens.
