Ghana’s Vice President meets Japanese Foreign Minister to deepen economic and diplomatic ties

‎Ghana is deepening its partnership with Japan. On Thursday, Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang met with Japan’s Foreign Minister, Ayano Kunimitsu, to discuss expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and cultural exchanges.


‎Ghana and Japan have maintained a strong diplomatic and economic relationship for decades, characterized by collaboration across multiple sectors. The high-level meeting at the Presidency brought together Ghana’s Foreign Minister, the Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, and senior officials from both nations.

‎During the discussions, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the longstanding partnership and explored ways to strengthen collaboration in trade, investment, and cultural initiatives.

Vice President Opoku-Agyemang commended the increasing presence of Japanese businesses in Ghana and encouraged efforts to create more opportunities for Ghanaian companies in Japan, emphasizing the importance of balanced and mutually beneficial trade relations.

‎Industry leaders present at the meeting expressed optimism, describing the discussions as the beginning of continued dialogue that promises growth and prosperity for both countries.
