GoldBod Jewellery has officially unveiled its festive season catalogue, presenting a stunning range of locally crafted jewellery pieces designed to add elegance to the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The collection features an exquisite selection of gold chokers and necklaces, earrings, matching bangles, and rings — offering customers the perfect opportunity to treat themselves and loved ones to timeless jewellery this holiday season.

As a subsidiary of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), the jewellery arm is emerging as a key driver of value addition in Ghana’s gold industry. The state-run agency recently announced the restructuring and rebranding of its fully owned Ghanaian jewellery manufacturing company, originally incorporated in 2016, as part of efforts to strengthen local jewellery production.
The initiative is aimed at delivering authentic, high-quality, locally crafted jewellery while promoting the patronage of Made-in-Ghana products. The rebranding and value-addition drive has already attracted praise from industry experts and stakeholders within the extractive sector.

Chairman of the Ghana Extractive Transparency Initiative (GHEITI), Dr. Steve Manteaw, described the rebranding as a strategic move to capitalize on Ghana’s strong reputation as a leading gold producer. Commenting on his official Facebook page, Dr. Manteaw noted that value addition is a game changer in the gold industry, as it enhances mineral worth, boosts export revenues, creates jobs, and generates additional corporate and personal tax revenue.
Similarly, Founding President of IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe, commended GoldBod for its commitment to adding value to the country’s gold resources. He encouraged Ghanaians to invest in gold, including jewellery, describing the precious metal as one of the safest and most reliable stores of value.
In a major milestone, GoldBod Jewellery has also launched a new e-commerce platform, jewellery.goldbod.gov.gh, positioning Ghana to compete on the global jewellery market.

Speaking to the media and stakeholders at the launch event, Managing Director of GoldBod Jewellery, Getrude Emefa Donkor, said the initiative marks the beginning of a new era in Ghana’s gold value-addition agenda. She emphasized that the move would end the long-standing practice of exporting raw gold only to re-import finished jewellery at higher costs.
“Today, we break that cycle. Today, we are changing that story forever,” she declared.
Ms. Donkor explained that the rebranding and retooling strategy is designed to increase domestic production of high-quality jewellery, reduce dependence on imports, showcase Ghana’s rich gold heritage, and promote local craftsmanship — ultimately supporting the local economy while offering customers unique Made-in-Ghana jewellery pieces.
