Concerns have been raised about the situation where individuals who received the first of two doses of the AstraZeneca jab against covid-19 were unable to get the booster jabs on time before the vaccines initially run out.

This has raised questions on whether it will be prudent to have such persons start the vaccination all over again since the protection guaranteed for the first shot may have expired.

Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Titus Beyuo has advised such persons to go ahead and take only the booster jabs.

This is because there is no evidence to suggest that an individual will require two new shots of the AstraZeneca jab if the required interval expires without getting the booster jab.
