The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has met with the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Mochizuki Hisanobu, to explore ways of deepening cooperation in Ghana’s health sector.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Health, focused on strengthening existing partnerships between the Government of Ghana and Japan particularly in the areas of health research, medical equipment improvement, and institutional support for the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.

The Ministry of Health, in a post made on its official Facebook page said the discussions also highlighted Japan’s longstanding contributions to Ghana’s health development through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and other bilateral programmes.
“The meeting reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s health system through technical assistance, research collaboration, and infrastructure improvement,” the post stated.

Both parties emphasized the importance of sustaining this collaboration while exploring opportunities for private sector participation in health infrastructure and research advancement.
