More Yellow Fever Vaccines dispatched to affected districts in Savannah Region

The Ghana Health Service has dispatched 50,300 doses of Yellow Fever vaccines for onward distribution to selected districts for vaccination.

A statement signed by Director-General of the Service, Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye said as of November 15, 2021 more than 43,615 people had been vaccinated in the Savannah Region as part of the intervention.

It said a total of 25 deaths have been recorded in the Savannah and Upper West Regions with 18 people on admission. The statement said the Ghana Health Service will continue with efforts aimed at improving outcomes for people who are affected while continuing with the vaccination drive to improve the immunity of the population against Yellow Fever.

It gave assurance that the Ghana Health Service is prepared to continue engaging partners such as the WHO and the Centre for Disease Control to bring the disease under full control.
