The Upper West Regional President of the Union of Professional Nurses and Midwives Ghana (UPNMG), Samuel Piue Lasir, has expressed worry about the negative tags given to nurses, midwives and other health professionals.

Mr Lasir said over the past few years health professionals have been identified as disrespectful, arrogant and lazy.

He said these tags bring the nursing profession into disrepute.

To address the negative names given to the profession, Mr Lasir said the Union would work with the Ministry of Health and its sub-agencies along with Nursing Training Institutions across the country to imbibe in nurses the culture of excellence and punctuality.

He shared these sentiments in an interview with Mark Smith in Wa.
