Nigeria has confirmed its first case of the coronavirus.
The country’s Health Minister Osagie Ehanire said in a statement on Twitter that the patient is an Italian citizen who returned from Milan to Nigeria on February 25.
He is said to be “clinically stable, with no serious symptoms”.
The health minister said they are working on identifying people the patient might have contacted since entering Nigeria.
This is the first case of the virus in sub-Saharan Africa.
