With hearts weighed down by sorrow, the Nabdam Traditional Council in the Upper East Region extends their solemn tribute to the eight distinguished sons of our land, four dedicated politicians and four valiant military officers—whose lives were tragically lost in a recent helicopter crash.
“These men were not ordinary travelers. They were statesmen and servicemen—patriots united by a common calling to serve Ghana with honor, dignity, and devotion. The politicians were men of vision and responsibility, carrying the hopes of their people. The military officers were gallant defenders of peace, faithful to duty and to the oath they swore to uphold. Together, they embodied the enduring values of leadership, sacrifice, and national unity,”a statement signed by his Royal Highness Naab Pariyoung Kosom Yelzoya Asaga II said.
The Nabdam Traditional Council further indicates that the loss echoes profoundly throughout the entire nation, touching the lives of each citizen in distinct ways, as its citizens pause to remember, honor, and pay tribute to these comrades who are gone but not forgotten.
“Their sudden passing is a deep loss—not only to their families and institutions, but to the entire nation. Yet even in our grief, we draw strength from their legacy: one of courage, commitment, and selfless service.” The statement added.
The Nabdam Traditional Council also extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, praying that the Almighty grants them comfort and strength. As custodians of tradition and identity, “we honour their memory and pray their noble souls find rest in the bosom of eternity.”
