Immigration Service deploys more personnel at Ghana’s borders to halt illegal entry

The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has stated that government is doing its best to encourage democratic policing to educate citizens to the use of nose masks or face masks to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The Minister answering to a question on the use of force by security officials on wearing nose masks by people who flout the directive, he noted that the security officials are not using measures which will countenance their operations at the various hotspots.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah further added that to ensure adherence to prevent illegal entry of people into the country, the Immigration Service has deployed additional 700 officials at the various entry points.

He again added that government is to distribute free nose masks to citizens. He thus stressed that the nose masks, no entry policy at all public places of entry, buildings, commercial or public vehicles will become strict after the free nose masks are distributed.
