Multi-talented Ghanaian artist, songwriter and performer, Mohammed Ismail Sherif Black Sherif popularly known as Black Sherif in the industry has revealed he has always been and will continue to be a rebel.
“As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been a rebel; I don’t know how to play by the rules”, he noted.
The “second coming” hitmaker, shared this part of his personal life in an interview with Kafui Dey on April 3. According to Black Sherif, he has been this way since infancy and realized he portrayed this feature in all stages of his life from primary school to now.
The Ghanaian music sensation, has been making waves with his bold and unapologetic style. This rebellious attitude of his is reflected in his music, which often tackles tough topics and challenges societal norms. Black Sherif’s lyrics are a reflection of his experiences growing up in Konongo, a suburb in Ghana, and his desire to speak truth to power.
The 24-year-old artist has been praised for his unique sound, which blends traditional Ghanaian rhythms with modern trap and hip-hop beats. His music has resonated with fans across Africa and beyond, earning him collaborations with international artists like Burna Boy and Tory Lanez.
