A Ghanaian businessman, Mr Jones Anansah has called on the state security apparatus to ensure maximum security for foreign investors and expatriates to boost tourism and job creation.

According to him providing total security for both investors and expatriates will give them the confidence that their lives and safety of investments are secure.

This he said will attract more investors, and tourists into the country to boost the Ghana’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Mr Anansah’s call comes on the back of an incident where a British citizen was attacked and assaulted at a restaurant in Nana-krom, a suburb in the Adentan Municipality in the Greater Accra region.

Speaking in an interview with the media, the Ghanaian businessman, expressed grate worry about the negative signals such unwarranted attacks, and assaults send to the rest of the world.

According to him, one Jack Daniel a British citizen, and a businessman who is living here in Ghana was assaulted about two weeks ago by some group of young men at a restaurant near Nana-krom in Accra where the expatriate (Jack Daniel) went to get himself some food to eat.

He explained that upon he (Daniel) arriving at the restaurant, some young men accosted him and before he could explain himself, some people began hitting him from behind.

This inhumane behavior, Mr. Anansah believes could affect or dent the image of Ghana, thus scaring many potential investors and foreigners into the country.

He has therefore, called on the Ghana Police Service, the National Intelligence Bureau and other security agencies tighten security for all citizens especially foreigners before, during and after the upcoming elections.

Narrating his ordeal the British citizen, Mr Jack Daniel confirmed the incident. Saying the attacked on his life had left him with a hearing impaired on his right ear.

Mr Jack Daniel used the opportunity to call on the police to expedite their investigations into the matter and bringing the perpetrators to face justice.

“I hope the investigation will be swift so that my attackers will be apprehend, face trial and possibly convicted to serve as a deterrent to others who are plotting to commit such crimes,” Mr. Daniel said.
