Private legal practitioner Austin Kwabena Brako-Powers has questioned the gap between electricity access rates and service reliability in parts of the country.
Speaking on Current Agenda at Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, he said although national electricity access remains high, some communities continue to experience localized outages.
Mr. Brako-Powers said discussions around the energy sector should distinguish between access to the grid and consistent, reliable supply.
He noted that while national figures may indicate widespread connectivity, residents in certain areas still face intermittent disruptions, raising concerns about the quality of service delivery.
According to him, the State of the Nation Address should provide clearer updates on improvements made within the reporting year, particularly in stabilising supply and addressing recurring localized challenges.
He emphasised that performance reporting should reflect not only coverage statistics but also improvements in reliability and service quality experienced by consumers.
