McDan Aviation Limited, Ghana’s pioneering indigenous Fixed Base Operation (FBO) provider, has accused the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) of attempting to collapse its business and flouting judicial processes.
The company, operating under a landmark August 2022 license agreement, invested millions to build the nation’s first private FBO terminal at Accra International Airport’s Terminal 1.
This facility has boosted Ghana’s aviation hub status, attracting private jets, tourism, and investments.
McDan rejects GACL’s claim of a “fundamental breach,” noting repeated unsuccessful attempts to engage them. The contract mandates a 90-day eviction notice, which GACL ignored, violating due process meant to safeguard McDan’s investments.
Tensions escalated when GACL was served a court injunction on March 10, 2026. Despite this, officials forcibly entered the terminal at 1:00 a.m. on March 11, removing McDan’s equipment and property in blatant contempt of the order.
McDan is pursuing legal remedies for the unlawful eviction, contract breach, and court defiance, vowing to protect its investments.
