The District Chief Executive for Nabdam in the Upper East Region Mr. Francis Tobig Yenwona has stated that he would use his office to improve road infrastructure in the area while fostering peaceful co-existence for sustainable development.

“If you look at the roads in Nabdam, it’s an eye saw. There’s no single tarred road in the District. When the roads are good, farmers can get to Pelungu, Zanlerigu or Kongo markets and get good prices for their produce. So in order to open up the place, we will to need improve the road infrastructure for investors to come in.” He noted.

The ceremony commenced with the induction of six new assembly members, who were sworn in after taking their official oaths. Nineteen assembly members — 13 elected and 6 appointed — voted to unanimously confirm the nominee for the Nabdam District Assembly Assembly. In his victory speech, Mr. Francis Tobig Yenwona thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him and pledging to work in line with the President’s vision for the benefit of the District.  He expressed gratitude to the assembly members for the support, requesting traditional leaders and political divide to give him the moral support to bring the needed development to the area.

“To my Chiefs and Queen mothers, I cannot succeed when you don’t support me. I will avail myself for criticism and suggestions that are directed towards the development of our only District. I will work tirelessly with the MP and other staff of the assembly to accomplish the mission of President Mahama and his resetting agenda.’’ Mr. Tobig stated. 

Mr. Francis Tobig Yenwona is the third but first male to occupy the office of a DCE for the Nabdam Constituency since its creation in 2012. The event was attended by a diverse array of dignitaries and community leaders and chiefs, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
