The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has announced intensified operations targeting nightclubs, entertainment venues, pubs, and public events across Ghana throughout the festive season.

This crackdown aims to combat drug abuse, trafficking, and the distribution of illicit substances amid heightened social activities. NACOC emphasized that these measures will safeguard public health, safety, and security during periods of large gatherings.

The initiative comes as the festive season typically sees a surge in drug-related risks. NACOC’s ongoing efforts focus on targeted enforcement and public education to prevent the sale and use of narcotics.

Operations will prioritize compliance with national narcotics laws, with collaboration from other law enforcement and regulatory agencies where needed.

Venue owners, managers, and event organizers face a direct call to action from NACOC. The commission urges full cooperation with authorized officers and proactive steps to keep premises drug-free.

This includes educating staff and patrons on the dangers of substance abuse. Members of the public are also encouraged to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities linked to drug use or trafficking.

NACOC assures that all operations will uphold professional standards and respect human rights while firmly addressing narcotic offenses.

By working together, NACOC believes Ghanaians can enjoy a safe, healthy, and festive holiday period.

The commission’s statement underscores a united front against drug threats, promoting collective responsibility for a secure celebration season.
