The Executive Director of PAMEPI Women in Tech Ghana, Chief Fuseini Yakubu led a high-profile delegation from AFIDE Ghana to the Ministry of Education On November 11, 2025 for a strategic dialogue on expanding digital access across the country.
The delegation included AFIDE’s CEO Hanc de Bokx, General Manager Pim de Bokx, and Service Manager Brianna Dika. They met with Education Minister Honourable Haruna Iddrisu alongside senior advisors, such as Prof. George K. T. Oduro, Caesar Sowah Williams, and Nii Kpani Addy, to discuss sustainable nationwide ICT solutions.
A central focus of the meeting was the presentation of AFIDE Ghana’s innovative ComputerLabs model, which delivers fully equipped and internet-connected computer labs with lifetime maintenance and continuous teacher training.
This scalable system removes traditional barriers to ICT access by using a sustainable student token model already successful in the Greater Accra Region. Plans to expand ComputerLabs across Ghana promise to open new doors for digital education and inclusion.
PAMEPI Women in Tech Ghana showcased its leadership in rolling out this transformative initiative to the Northern Region, particularly through the recent inauguration of a 63-computer lab at Business Senior High School (BISCO) in Tamale.
The organisation also confirmed deployment of ten additional ComputerLabs to reach thousands more students, with a special emphasis on empowering girls in STEM fields to gain practical digital skills by the end of the year.
Minister Haruna Iddrisu expressed strong support for PAMEPI’s commitment to girls’ empowerment through STEM education, national robotics and AI competitions, digital literacy camps, and mentorship programs.
He applauded their impact and urged the acceleration of digital training for girls nationwide.
The minister also called for a comprehensive framework to guarantee STEM education access for every girls’ school in Ghana, highlighting his plan to visit the BISCO ComputerLab on his next official trip to the Northern Region.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed shared vision: to cultivate a digitally empowered generation where all children, regardless of regional background, can access the tools and skills essential for success in the digital age.
PAMEPI Women in Tech Ghana’s dedication remains steadfast to ensuring no girl, school, or community is left behind in this digital transformation.
