The 2023 edition of the State of the Nation Address (SONA) by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been postponed to Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
President Akufo-Addo was originally billed to appear on the floor of Parliament to deliver the 2023 SONA on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
No special reason was given for the postponement.
The Majority Chief Whip, Mr. Frank Annor-Dompreh, announced the postponement while presenting the business statement for the third week ending Friday, March 3, 2023.
The delivery of the SONA by a sitting president is made mandatory by Article 67 of the 1992 Republican Constitution of Ghana.
