Alan Kyerematen resigns from NPP; Declares intention to contest as Independent Candidate

Former Minister for Trade and Industry and Presidential hopeful, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has officially resigned from the New Patriotic Party for the second time in his political career.

Addressing a press conference at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra on Monday September 25, 2023, Mr Alan Kyerematen announced his intention to contest in the 2024 presidential election in Ghana as an Independent Candidate.

He confirmed the formation of a movement called “Movement for Change” with a Monarch Butterfly as its symbol.

At the news conference, Mr. Kyerematen, said he will soon launch his campaign which will take him to the nook and cranny of the country to secure victory in next year’s general election
