The Electoral Commission (EC) has described as “unverified” and “misleading” statements by the Asawase Member of Parliament to the effect that a parliamentary ballot box in one of the Polling Stations had been stuffed with marked ballots.
The EC in a statement said it investigated the incident and identified that a voter unscrupulously and unsuccessfully attempted to put in fake ballots into a Parliamentary ballot box.
It urged the public to desist from issuing unverified statements that lead to unnecessary confusion and heightened tension.
