Some Constituencies in the Ashanti Region have had Court injunctions placed on their polling station elections while others are praying the Court to quash the elections held.

Our Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Georgina Ama Ankumah has been following the event and reports that the NPP opened nominations for interested party members to contest for the polling station elections slated February 19 through March 5, 2022.

However, since the opening of nominations the exercise has been characterised by some form of violence resulting in the placing of Court injunctions and demonstrations.

Constituencies like the Manhyia North, Kwadaso, Bantama, Ejisu, Mampong and Obuasi West have recorded some sort of violence. Others such as Fomena, Bosomtwe, Nsuta Kwamang Beposo, Atwima Kwanwoma, Sekyere Kumawu are also experiencing the same.

Constituencies like Mampong, Bantama and Nsuta Kwamang Beposo have Court injunctions placed on the elections, while, Ejisu have experienced demonstration and presenting of petition to the Municipal Chief Executive Samuel Oduro Frimpong.

These actions have been necessitated by the inability to access nomination forms and undue machinations by some party big wigs.

Mr. Oduro Frimpong explained the course of the demonstration and acknowledged receipt of the petition.
