The Human Rights Court in Accra has dismissed an application by former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta seeking permission to amend his writ and demand additional documents in his ongoing legal battle with the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
Mr. Ofori-Atta had asked the court to allow him to revise his earlier filing and access certain materials as part of his challenge against being declared a wanted person and the arrest warrant issued for him. However, the court on Tuesday ruled against the request.
This development comes as the former minister faces a series of serious charges filed by the OSP. On November 18, 2025, the OSP brought 78 charges against Mr. Ofori-Atta and seven others over their alleged involvement in the controversial revenue assurance agreements between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML).
The charges—filed under case number CR/0106/2026 at the Criminal Division of the High Court—include alleged breaches of Section 23(1) of the Criminal Offences Act (Act 29) and Section 92(2)(b) of the Public Procurement Act (Act 663).
