The Convention People’s Party (CPP), has celebrated its 73rd anniversary at Arena station in Accra.

The event on Sunday, June 12, also saw the party launch the ‘Operation Take Over’ mobilization code which aims to rejuvenate and resuscitate the party.

Speaking at the launch, the Chairperson of CPP, Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah, expressed belief in the Ghanaian youth.

“The CPP is back. Today we are here to rekindle that spirit. In the stack of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, with authority invested in us, with the spirit of all our ancestors, with the spirit of those that have died, with the spirit of those that sacrificed for this nation, for all the youth that stood here on that day, for the 60,000 youth that were here when he came to speak on the 12th of June 1949, I stand and hoist this flag in the name of the father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

The Director of Communications of the CPP, Silvester Soprano, affirmed the party’s determination to grapple power from the NPP and NDC.

“There are some who think that we are playing games but Heaven knows that we are committed to the CPP and the Republic of Ghana, and we are determined to wrest political power from the NPP and NDC so that we can bring to the people of this country a certain economic independence and hope to the youth.”
