Chairman of the National Peace Council, Prof. Emmanuel Asante has described as unfortunate the level at which the politics of insults are creeping into political party campaigning.

He said this often degenerates into violence and it also pitches opponents against each other.

In an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana, Prof Asante asked political parties to desist from such politics of insults and ethnicity because it does not promote democracy.

Professor Asante asked political parties to dwell more on what is spelt out in their manifestos during campaigning so as to help the electorate make informed choices.
