More than 116,000 Officials contracted for District Level Election paid -Electoral Commission

The Electoral Commission, EC, says it has paid almost all Temporary Officials who worked for the Commission during the District Level Elections in 2023.

It says, a total of 116, 211 temporary officials have been paid out 116,258 who were hired for the exercise.

In a statement signed by the Acting Director of Public Affairs, Micheal Boadu, GHS 69,164, 842.11 is the amount the Commission has paid so far to the Officials.

The statement said the amount left to be paid to the remaining 47 officials is GHS 24, 263.16

It added, “The Commission of modernizing the recruitment process for temporary employees by digitalizing its data collection systems”

This initiative, it noted, “ will enhance and improve the payment method of all Temporary Officials and prevent payment delays”, it said.

Additionally, “ the digital system will help streamline administrative procedures, reduce paperwork, and ensure accuracy and security of data.

It says it is a significant step towards optimizing operational efficiency and resource management within the Commission.

The EC assured that, “ current and future temporary staff of the EC should expect to be paid on time”, it added.
