The outcomes of a two-day IPAC review workshop on the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections was the focus of discussions on GBC News current affairs programme “Talking Point”.
While the New Patriotic Party says it welcomes most of the Electoral Commission’s recommendations for future elections the National Democratic Congress says most of the EC’s recommendations are questionable.
Communications Director for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sammy Gyamfi, says his party boycotted EC’s reforms because of the posture the current electoral proposals portrays against the NDC in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr. Gyamfi made the statement on GBC’s Current Affairs programme, “Talking Point” on Sunday.
Meanwhile, both the NPP and CODEO have welcomed EC’s proposals but called for more stakeholder engagements.
