Day two of the pilot registration exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC) to test the efficiency of its machines ahead of the 2020 elections has come to a halt in the Western Region.

This is due to the breakdown of the Biometric Voter Registration Machine.

The about 15 persons who were at hand to register had to leave around 11: 55 a.m. as officials of the EC tried to address the issue.

Although no official of the Commission explained to the media what the problem was, it was not a surprise as the BVR machine kept freezing and had to be re-started countless times on the first day of the exercise.

Meanwhile, the EC says with the exception of the Western Region where there was a technical hitch, registration in all the 15 regions went on successfully.
