Energy Minister, John Peter Amewu says recent intermittent outages have to do with the upgrading of some of the transmission lines of the ECG.

He said since the NPP government assumed office it has addressed the frequent power outages popularly known as Dumsor.

He said sometimes delay in transporting light crude oil to the plant for generation also one major cause that leads to the intermittent power outages.

Taking his turn at the ‘Meet the Press series’ in Accra, Mr. Amewu said the intermittent power cut has nothing to do with board room wrangling or a management problem.

Mr. Amewu said there have been tax interventions including the reduction of the Special Petroleum Tax rate from 17.5% to 15% and removal of excise duty.

He said NPA has introduced measures to improve upon and sustain health safety.
