The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, has engaged six Diplomatic Corps to discuss ways of deepening bilateral relations and increasing trade and investment.
Discussions at the meeting centered on ratifying the Continental Free Trade Area Agreement to help increase trade among African countries. The four missions included the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Cote d’ Ivoire to Ghana, Bernard Ehui-Koutoua and the Chair of ECOWAS Ambassadors, Olufemi Abikoye.
The High commissioners commended Ghana for its long political stability. Madam Botchwey expressed her gratitude to the Regional Deans and the Diplomatic Community for their tireless commitment to strengthening relations with Ghana during the year.
She hopes, they will further deepen their cooperation in the coming years.
As part of efforts to deepen and expand bilateral relations, Madam Botchwey announced that Ghana will establish missions in Oslo and Mexico in 2019. She said President Akufo-Addo will be visiting Japan before the end of the year, to consolidate Ghana’s gains in that region.
