The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has taken delivery of 254 Nissan Pickups to be presented to all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies.
The vehicles which were supplied by two separate automobile companies will support the operations of the Assemblies. The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama said the Ministry is expecting to receive another 254 Nissan Patrols by the end of next month.
Hajia Alima Mahama, urged the Assemblies not to use the excuse of “no vehicle” to renege on their responsibility of ensuring grass root development.
She encouraged them to develop innovative strategies to collect property rates to generate more income.
