As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) intensifies its internal campaigns ahead of the January presidential primaries, momentum is building across the country for the aspirants vying to lead the party into the 2028 general elections. One of the most vocal campaign teams is that of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, who is being championed as “The Nation’s Industrialist” by his supporters.

Speaking to Maltiti Sayida Sadick on GTV’s Breakfast Show, the National Coordinator for the Kennedy Agyapong campaign team, Dr. Palgrave Boakye Danquah, outlined why he believes the former Assin Central legislator stands tall among the contenders.

According to Dr. Danquah, Kennedy Agyapong embodies cooperation, collaboration, and consensus-building, qualities he says the country urgently needs.

“Kennedy Agyapong cooperates, collaborates and builds consensus. As an industrialist, he will forge strong partnerships with Asian partners and adapt their principles to build Ghana. His vision is to transition Ghana from an import-dependent economy to an export-driven one,” he said.

Dr. Danquah emphasised that Kennedy Agyapong’s track record in business and leadership provides a rare template for national transformation. With 16 companies employing an estimated 7,000 workers, he noted that Agyapong’s contribution to job creation is a strategic advantage that sets him apart.

“Kennedy is a strong advocate for paying people well. He practices the leadership he preaches. His work ethic and commitment show what true humanity should look like,” he stressed.

On issues of integrity, Dr. Danquah described Agyapong as “unblemished,” stating that for 33 years, he has remained firm against corruption.

He added that although Kennedy Agyapong’s outspoken nature is sometimes misinterpreted, the heart behind his message is for the ordinary Ghanaian.

“Kennedy’s utterances may be misunderstood, but when you weigh the motives, you realize his heart and soul are Ghanaian. His freedom fighting can be equated to Nelson Mandela’s resolve for the people,” Dr. Danquah asserted.

He further argued that Ghanaian youth, in particular, are looking for a leader who has risen through real experience, built tangible businesses, and understands the “bread and butter” issues confronting citizens daily.

Despite recent polls circulating within the political space, the campaign team says they remain unfazed.

“Polls don’t mean much to us. Kennedy’s unique selling proposition — his track record, job creation, integrity, and industrial vision — makes him stand out,” Dr. Danquah stated confidently.

As the NPP’s internal contest heats up, the campaign team believes that Kennedy Agyapong’s practical leadership, rooted in industry and accountability, positions him as the ideal candidate to drive Ghana’s next chapter of economic transformation.
