Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has refuted claims that he is campaigning to be the running mate for NPP flagbearer elect, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, come election 2024.

The Suame MP is one of the party’s bigwigs tipped to be the running mate for Dr. Bawumia to help “break the eight”.

This claim was corroborated when the Member of Parliament for Adaklu constituency, Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza, alleged on the floor of Parliament that the MP for Suame was campaigning for the running position.

To set the record straight, the Majority Leader categorically denied Hon. Agbodza’s claim and called on the house to focus on the substantive matter of debating the 2024 budget statement.

“Mr Speaker, let me state that there is no contest for running mate, and I’m not involved in campaigning for the running mate position, it should be loud and clear,” Kyei Mensah Bonsu stated.

He, however, did not declare or deny his intention to contest for the running mate position.
