The Local Government Service has announced plans to rationalize administrative staff of Metropolitan Municipal and District Assemblies as well as Regional Coordinating Councils over the large number of personnel which has left some with no work to do.

The situation is said to be affecting productivity and capacity development as staff are not able to learn on the job.
