The Minority Caucus led by their Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh Dompreh has called on the Speaker to withdraw the letter signed by the Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, declaring the Kpandai seat vacant.

Mr. Annoh Dompreh cited procedural inconsistencies and a disregard for the rule of law.

Making a statement on the floor of the House, Mr Annoh Dompreh was of the view that the decision flies in the face of law and procedural justice.

It would be recalled that yesterday, in a letter to the Electoral Commission (EC) the Clerk to Parliament declared the Kpandai Seat vacant due to Tamale High Court ruling on the 2024 Parliamentary election results of the Kpandai Constituency.

According to the Minority, the decision will not stand as they will continue to collaborate with the Majority, while upholding the principles of democracy and the rule of law.

The First Deputy Speaker, Mr Bernard Ahiafor who was in the Chair suspended the House in the midst of singing and disruption of proceedings in the Chamber.
