The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has blamed the government on PDS’ failure to meet the conditions under which assets of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) were transferred to it.
Addressing a news conference in Accra, the General Secretary of the party, said the party is not too clear about the intention of government in authorizing the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta to write the termination letter.
He added that it was wrong for the Finance Minister to write the termination letter instead of the Chairman of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA).
The NDC is also demanding the dismissal of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta.
It has also asked government not to go ahead with the restrictive tendering unless all those officials involved in the Power Distribution Services (PDS) transaction are indicted and prosecuted for willfully causing financial loss to the state.
