The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it will hold its national executive elections between September 18 and 20, 2026.

The party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, made this known at a press conference on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. He said the elections form part of a broader timetable for the party’s internal electoral process.

According to him, nominations for the national executive positions will open from August 10 to 14, 2026. Filing of nominations will follow from August 15 to 17, while vetting of aspirants will take place from August 20 to 23.

Mr Kodua Frimpong added that the vetting report will be presented on August 25. Appeals by aspirants who may be dissatisfied with the vetting outcome will be heard from August 28 to 29.

He confirmed that the national executive elections will be conducted between September 18 and 20, 2026.

The General Secretary also revealed that the tenure of some party officials will expire during the election period. To prevent any disruption, he said their mandates have been extended. The extension covers polling station executives, constituency executives, branch executives, electoral area coordinators and regional executives.

Mr Kodua Frimpong explained that the decision is aimed at ensuring a smooth and orderly process.

“This will help not to distort the elections,” he stated.
