The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to officially unveil Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as the running mate to its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia today, July 9, at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.
Prior to the main event, Dr. Opoku Prempeh will be introduced to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as a mark of respect.
The NPP’s National Council unanimously endorsed Dr. Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, as the party’s running mate during a meeting at Accra’s Alisa Hotel on Thursday, July 4.
The decision has received widespread acceptance from the party’s rank and file.
President Akufo-Addo has expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it will significantly contribute to the NPP’s success in retaining power in the upcoming December 7 election.
