The OAK for President movement, supporting New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has announced the appointment of Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah as its National Coordinator.
According to the group, the appointment reflects confidence in Dr. Boakye-Danquah’s leadership, dedication, and passion for the reorganization and strengthening of the NPP ahead of both the January 2026 primaries and the 2028 general election.
In a statement, OAK described its mission as a grassroots political action group, modeled on global examples like Obama for America but tailored to Ghana’s political and economic realities. The movement is dedicated to advancing Kennedy Agyapong’s presidential ambitions by rallying NPP delegates, party supporters, and ordinary Ghanaians around his “PHD Doctrine” — Patriotism, Honesty, and Discipline.
Quoting from Isaiah 61:3, OAK drew inspiration from the oak tree as a symbol of strength, resilience, and deep roots — qualities it says mirror Mr. Agyapong’s leadership. “The oak tree stands tall against adversity, much like Agyapong’s unwavering commitment to the grassroots of the NPP and the people of Ghana,” the release noted.
Dr. Boakye-Danquah, a former government spokesperson under President Akufo-Addo and a seasoned political strategist, has been a vocal supporter of Kennedy Agyapong’s presidential bid since early 2025. He has consistently argued that Agyapong represents the “variable” needed to unify the NPP, secure the flagbearership, and ultimately win power in 2028.
As National Coordinator, Dr. Boakye-Danquah will oversee OAK’s operations, focusing on grassroots mobilization, delegate outreach for the primaries, national voter engagement, and amplifying Mr. Agyapong’s policy vision — including economic transformation, job creation, and anti-corruption governance.
In addition to Dr. Boakye-Danquah’s role, OAK announced the appointment of several key officials to strengthen its national structure:
Dr. John Kinyorbaan Gabulja – National Organizer
Lawrence Tinforce Amenuku – Communications Director, Coastal Belt
Richmond Arthur-Baidoo – Communications Director, Middle Belt
Emmanuel Adjei Domson – Communications Director, Northern Belt
Williams Kofi Toku – Director of Marketing and Advertising
Yaa Ansah Safori – National Women’s Organizer
Tweneboah Kwasi Afriyie – Operations Director, Middle Belt
Charles Mustapha Arhin Abass – Operations Director, Northern Belt
Gideon Kofi Ntiri – Operations Director, Coastal Belt
Dr. Francis Kwaku Antwi – Coordinator, Professional Groupings
Dr. Michael Adusei Nsowah – Deputy Coordinator, Professional Groupings
OAK emphasized that its work is distinct from Kennedy Agyapong’s official campaign, instead functioning as a broader grassroots movement designed to sustain momentum, energize party members, and appeal to Ghanaians beyond the NPP.
The statement concluded with congratulations to the newly appointed executives and a call for collective effort to advance the common agenda: Kennedy Ohene Agyapong for President.
