The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused government of causing financial loss of $1.8 billion to the State in the termination of the PDS deal.

The party also accused Government of bending the rules and awarding the contract to PDS when they knew the deal was bad.

Government in October finally cancelled the PDS deal on what it termed fundamental and material breaches.

Government cancelled the agreement on PDS failure to provide demand guarantees for such an agreement.

Speaking at its 10th edition of the weekly news conference by the Party in Accra, however, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, catalogued series of events leading to the cancellation saying Government failed to provide truth surrounding the deal adding that Government handled the deal poorly.

He asked that Government renders an account to the people of Ghana.

The party’s National Communication Officer also questioned why those involved in the PDS deal have not been held accountable. He said the Akufo-Addo led government has no intention of prosecuting those involved in the scandal.
