Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is in Brussels, Belgium, alongside other government officials, to participate in the 2025 Global Gateway Forum — a flagship event organized by the European Union (EU).
The two-day forum, which runs from October 9 to 10, brings together Heads of State and Government, business executives, civil society representatives, and major financial institutions to explore the future of strategic partnerships in an increasingly multipolar world.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition in 2023, this year’s forum focuses on strengthening global connectivity amid growing geopolitical and geo-economics challenges.
The Global Gateway initiative is the EU’s strategic framework to promote smart, clean, and secure connections in digital, energy, and transport sectors, while also supporting health, education, and research systems globally.
Through the initiative, the European Union aims to mobilize up to €300 billion in investments to drive sustainable development and resilience across partner regions.
