Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has reaffirmed the Minority’s determination to reclaim political power, despite their current numerical disadvantage in Parliament.
Speaking on the GTV Breakfast Show on July 2, 2025, the MP said the Minority caucus is committed to matching the Majority “boot for boot,” and that they have collectively vowed to do whatever is legally permissible to return to power.
“We have sworn that whatever it takes, anything that is permissible and permissible by law, we have to come to power,” he stated.
The Minority Chief Whip further explained that while being in the Minority poses challenges, being in government previously was even more difficult due to the dual responsibilities of MPs who were also part of the Executive.
“Being in the Majority seems difficult on the face value of it… but when we were in government, that was most, most difficult,” he said.
Mr Frank Annoh-Dompreh also pushed back against the use of the term “Micro Majority” to describe the Minority, saying it was unparliamentary and had been overruled by the Speaker of Parliament. Instead, he embraced nicknames like the “88 Infantry Battalion” and the “Mighty Minority,” which he said emerged from the caucus’s strong performance in the early months of the current Parliament.
“There’s nothing like micro anywhere but there’s a mighty,” he concluded.
