As Ghanaians head to the polls to exercise their constitutional right to vote today, December 7, 2024, the Presbyterian polling station in the Weija-Gbawe constituency witnessed an early turnout of determined voters.

By 5:00 a.m., a growing crowd had already formed, showcasing their commitment to participating in the electoral process. Some came prepared with food and water, ready to wait for hours if necessary.

Despite the early hour, the atmosphere was lively, filled with conversations about the significance of the election and hopes for its outcome. Although polling officials were yet to set up the place with essential materials, including ballot papers and boxes, the enthusiasm of the early voters remained undeterred.

Security personnel were present to maintain order and ensure a peaceful environment. For many of these early risers, arriving ahead of time was not just a strategy to avoid long queues but a clear expression of their dedication to democracy.
